Take advantage of this exciting opportunity to learn about careers in public health.

The Virginia Public Health Association, VCU Career Services, and the VCU Department of Family Medicine and Population Health’s Division of Epidemiology invite you to participate in our 6th Annual Statewide Career and Internship Fair. You will be exposed to the plentiful professional opportunities in public health as well as recent advancements in health research and development. Participants will also have an opportunity to meet and talk with a variety of potential employers. 

The program will feature a series of roundtable discussions on a variety of career opportunities in public health as well as ideas to help in the job hunt.

Registration is free for current students, and is required to participate in the roundtables. 

Program Schedule

  • 9:00 -Registration Opens - Refreshments available (on your own) Starbucks's or Jonah's Cafe in the Larrick Center
  • 9:30 - Employer Expo begins
  • 10:00 - 11:30 - Student Research Poster Session
  • 11:30 - Break - lunch available (Employer expo continues)
  • 12:00 - Employer Expo ends
  • 12:00 - 1:00 - Keynote speaker - Marissa Levine, MD, MPH, FAAP; State Health Commissioner
  • 1:15 - 2:45 - Roundtable Sessions begin (three 25 minute sessions)
  • 2:45 - 3:00 - Student Research Poster Winner Announced
  • 3:00 - Adjourn

Who Should Attend 

The program is designed for current undergraduates interested in careers in public health, MPH students and alumni, though others are welcome to join us as well.

Registration is free for current students.

Want to Submit a Poster? 

All Public Health Students and recent graduates can take this opportunity to present their research and projects. Abstracts should be no more than 200 words and summarize your rationale, methodology (if applicable), and findings/outcomes. Please include the names of all authors, with contact information, as well as the name of your college/university and program, and note whether your submission will be for display only or should be included in the judging. Prizes will be awarded for those submissions that are judged. Abstract submission deadline: 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Submit your abstracts with your registration.  You may also submit after registering by going to 6th Annual Career Fair - Poster Session under Events.
